Idea Napkin No. 1

Scooter-Carpool

1. Throughout my time in college, I have become good friends with many people and I cannot step onto campus without recognizing someone. As someone who drives a scooter, if i see someone walking, I will ask if they want to hop on the back for convenience. I enjoy being friendly and helping people out getting to where they need to be. I believe my business would affect my life immediately due to the amount of people that could benefit from it.

2. The service I am offering to students is essentially a carpool app where students ask for a ride to a certain destination and students who have scooters will tell them when and where to meet them and will give them a ride to their destination.

3. The service would be offered to college students within a certain radius of people who own scooters. All these customers have the same need of wanting cheap transportation whenever they want.

4. Customers will pay for this service because the employees are other college students can make a few bucks by just dropping off someone on the way to wherever you are going. Customers will also use it because the University of Florida campus is huge and having to rely on buses can make them late to classes and meetings.

5. This concept is different from other companies such as uber because it will be cheaper and is more convenient for customers and employees. The University of Florida has the most amount of scooters driven by college students in Florida and i think everyone could benefit from it.

This assignment proved to be very difficult which I did not expect. As an individual, I try to complain the least I can and this assignment made me believe I was complaining about trivial things I had no control over. Coming up with 20 different bugs made me truly think hard on what irked me slightly but I do not believe there are answers to correct them.

My Entrepreneurship Story

Over this past winter break, I traveled back home and was able to catch up with one of my cousins who goes to Belmont University in Tennessee. I asked him how school was going and he told me that he changed his degree to entrepreneurship. I had little knowledge about what this entailed and he explained he really enjoys being an innovator and wants to start up his own business. He began to work part time for a company that uses cryotherapy to help athletes recover faster. He believes this form of therapy will become the new universal way of athletes maintaining their bodies. During his time there, many professional athletes from around the area came in to test it out.

I enrolled in ENT3003 because of this encounter with my cousin. I have always believed that I have the potential to create a business that is innovative and successful. Throughout this semester, I want learn through experiences how I can further my development as an individual and retain it for my future.
